Job Description
We are seeking an intelligent, dynamic, extremely articulate, and highly motivated self-starter to generate new business for our company. Ideal candidates will be entrepreneurial and have the desire to expand their roles and grow with the company. The Business Development Outside Sales Rep is responsible for increasing our Managed Services, Professional Services, Software, and Hardware sales. This position has the opportunity for growth within the company. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales, interpersonal and organization skills. They should be comfortable with multitasking and be able to budget their resources in order to meet the assigned quotas/targets for their role.
Job Responsibilities
  • Perform outside sales prospecting to identify new customer opportunities
  • Attend networking events to generate sales leads
  • Perform sales calls to generate leads and to obtain meetings with prospective customers
  • Understand a prospective customer's business objectives and which of our Managed Service offerings provides value to the prospect
  • Accurately represent our Managed Service offerings to prospective customers
  • Perform Managed Services sales presentations to prospective customers
  • Sign up new Managed Services customers
  • Diligently follow up on Managed Service leads provided through team members
  • Work alongside our team members to communicate the value of our managed services offerings to existing customers
  • Apply significant knowledge of the prospects/client’s business operations, resources, industry, and direction to sell solutions comprising of hardware, software, and integration services
  • Identifying, developing, negotiating, and successfully closing new engagement agreements with clients that will encompass hardware and software products and value-added solution sets
  • Meet and exceed financial goals
  • Results-driven and willing to work on a salary and commission basis
  • Understand and keep up to date with industry and competitive landscape knowledge
  • Develops and expands a portfolio of corporate clients by networking and marketing
  • Prepares sales visits and presentations to pitch product, service, and combination packages to clients
  • Establishes sales goals and implements a plan to meet those goals
  • Tracks progress toward goals and documents sales performance
  • Becomes fluent in all products and services offered by the employer through testing, demonstrations, and research
  • Answers questions, describe benefits and discusses pros and cons of various competing products or services
  • Gains familiarity with the IT industry, and stays updated on trends and innovative products
  • Demonstrate excellent sales, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Assist marketing in developing/proposing new resources/tools for use in-market
Required Skills
  • 3+ years of sales experience
  • Proven success in meeting sales quotas
  • Hunger to develop relationships and sell
  • Attention to detail and ability to document activities/opportunities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities
  • Technical awareness and aptitude
  • Technology background or passion for the technology industry
  • Strong prospecting and networking skills
  • Participate in ongoing sales training and customer services meetings
  • Experience with recurring revenue is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience in building IT solutions or Technology Sales are required, preferably with a focus on Managed Services
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to close during sales calls, overcome objectives, and the ability to negotiate
  • Ability to generate referrals and follow up with them
  • Ability to generate qualified leads
  • A competitive, driven, ambitious, resourceful, proven leader and self-motivated traits
  • Extremely detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, have the technical aptitude to learn new technologies
Required Experience
  • Sales: 3 years Prefered
  • Customer Service: 3 years Prefered
